Many companies are showing their courage to break new ground and innovate through their products and increasingly through digitalised production processes. The energy to make both of these things possible, however, is often generated and sourced very conventionally. There is a lot to suggest that energy-intensive industries and logistics companies in particular are rethinking their energy requirements: photovoltaic systems on rooftops are relatively quickly profitable and reduce dependence on high electricity prices. Since 2022, concerns about supply bottlenecks and the development of electricity prices have led to a significant increase in demand for solutions to generate their own electricity. The manufacturing industry, many SMEs and international corporations in particular are looking for ways to limit their dependence on the price of electricity on the global market. The (flat) roofs of production halls and warehouses are ideal for the construction of a photovoltaic system. This makes sensible use of a previously unused area – and secures the company’s own energy supply at favourable prices in the long term.
