CCEN becomes main sponsor of socially engaged basketball club "CCEN LSB Lecce"

Photovoltaic project developer CCEN becomes main sponsor of LSB Lecce for the Serie C Silver championship as well as all the sports and especially social activities organized by the club. The basketball club is involved with its initiative "Noisiamo1" ("Weare1") especially for the inclusion of children and young people in basketball.

Bolzano / Lecce, May 30, 2022 - The basketball club "La scuola di basket Lecce Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica" based in Lecce is not only active in minibasketball and in the Serie C championships. Its focus is particularly on initiatives to promote inclusion in basketball. This was one of the reasons for CCEN to engage as the main sponsor for the 2022 season at one of its business locations.

Sandro Esposito, General Manager of CCEN Italy, explains his motivation: "When I was asked to support the development of this initiative in Lecce, I had no doubt that social work in connection with sports fits perfectly with our green economy industry. Because social commitment fits perfectly with our corporate goal of promoting the development of a cleaner and friendlier planet for all. So it was love at first sight between CCEN and LSB Lecce."

The sponsorship includes not only the branded official jerseys but also the renaming of the team to "CCEN LSB Lecce" as well as maximum visibility of the sponsor especially at events that promote social integration through sports. In addition to regional tournaments in Lecce, this also includes a Baskin summer camp, which will take place at "Villaggio Lamaforca" in Carovigno (BR) from July 10 to 24, 2022.

Baskin is a new sport inspired by basketball that allows active participation of every person without distinction of gender, age, technical skills, skin color, and physical abilities. Non-disabled individuals play together with disabled individuals with physical and mental impairments in a team - a sporting proof of successful inclusion.

This sponsorship at one of CCEN's locations fits perfectly into the "CCE Care" initiative of the CCE Holding, to which CCEN belongs. This initiative was launched to take social and societal responsibility especially at the holding's global locations. The CCE Holding aims to actively shape the energy transition as a fully integrated Independent Power Producer (IPP).

CCE develops and delivers clean energy based on photovoltaics and battery storage in seven countries. With a strong portfolio, CCE plans to provide green electricity to over 2 million households by 2029 and drive the global energy transition.
