With the loan amount, the construction of a 10 MW photovoltaic system in the municipality of Rafelder (province of Gelderland) is being financed. The project is expected to be connected to the Dutch electricity grid in the summer of 2025. The open-space system in Rafelder is currently being built on a former landfill and serves a dual purpose: In addition to generating green electricity, the company CCE The Netherlands has carried out a complex and costly treatment of the contaminated soil, making it usable. The transaction is a classic construction financing with all the typical security features of a project financing. After financing a 23 MW system in Marknesse (province of Flevoland), this is the company's second collaboration with the Dutch Rabobank: 'We are pleased to have Rabobank as a reliable partner by our side for the second time,' said Martin Dürnberger and Jörg Menyesch, the two CEOs of CCE Holding.
'The state-guaranteed feed-in tariff of 6.8 cents ensures us as developers and operators an attractive, long-term financing solution that guarantees stable income and strengthens investor confidence,' adds Thomas Steiner-Zelger, Director Project Finance at CCE. Rabobank was represented by Wiebe van Veen and Chiel de Graas: 'Rabobank is pleased to support CCE again. The photovoltaic system is being realized on a former landfill, a very good example of pragmatic and sustainable land use.' With the two systems in Rafelder and Marknesse, CCE Netherlands will produce around 31 GWh of electricity per year and thus supply 12,500 households with green energy.
