Biodiversity in Harmony
Project Vlaamseweg: Sustainable energy, storage, and biodiversity in harmony!
At CCE Netherlands, we go beyond just solar energy. Our Vlaamseweg project in 's-Heer Arendskerke, Zeeland combines three powerful sustainable initiatives:
• 2.5 MWp Solar Park: Reliable renewable energy generation.
• Licensed Battery Energy Storage System (BESS): Ready for efficient storage of generated energy.
• Strengthening biodiversity: Completely renewed reforestation and planting including beehive to support nature.
Innovation and Planning
The operational solar park has been in our possession since January 2023. The BESS approval was granted in March 2023, so we are ready to implement battery storage as soon as the grid operator Stedin provides charging capacities.
Green Growth and Biodiversity
Sustainability does not stop at energy - we are committed to a healthy and thriving environment. By the end of 2024, we will have completed all the planting around the solar park. This green landscape not only creates a natural buffer but also promotes biodiversity. In spring 2025, we expect the first bees in our specially placed beehive, which will provide natural pollination and delicious honey. For the maintenance of the solar park's lawn, we also use sheep, enabling a natural and sustainable management of the area. The sheep contribute to soil quality and biodiversity, while the maintenance is carried out in an ecologically responsible manner.
Bringing together energy, nature, and innovation.
The Vlaamseweg project shows that the future of renewable energies can go hand in hand with ecological enrichment. By combining solar energy, storage, and biodiversity, we are taking a big step towards a more sustainable world.
